The Ohio
Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (OAMFT) is the state organization of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT). All clinical,
associate, and student members are automatically members of the state
organization in which they reside. If you move,
please make sure to change your address with AAMFT so that they can switch you to the
appropriate state membership.

bill passed the General Assembly and will go into
effect 90 days after signature by the governor!
This
means:

MFTs have the
right by law to diagnose and treat mental and
emotional disorders
-
MFTPSC can
approve their own licensees
-
IMFTs may
provide work supervision for PCs, LSWs, MFTs
-
MFTs will have
to document training in:
(7) Diagnosis of
mental and emotional disorders;
AS WE ALWAYS HAVE BEEN.
MFTs
will now be able to practice in Ohio per their scope
of practice.
